SARAJEVO - 18.05.2010. Tournament called I Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Football Youth Tournament will be held from 22-23.05.2010. at the Kosevo Stadium with participation of the following youth selections: AC Milan (Italia), FC VASAS (Hungary), FC TIMISOARA (Romenia), NK HAJDUK (Croatia), FK PARTIZAN (Serbia) as well as the host team Club "BUBAMARA" (BiH).

At a press conference held in Sarajevo, the project was presented by Filippo Galli, director of the Youth team AC Milan, Michele Ferraris, AC Milan Junior manager; Almir Krkalić, CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank BiH and Fiorenzo Mariani, international PR Intesa Sanpaolo.
"At the beginning of my career I played a lot of friendly tournaments in Italy and Europe competing with children from other countries. These were times of significant development, not just me as an athlete, but as a person" said Filippo Galli, director of the Youth Team AC Milan at a press conference in Sarajevo.
"And now that I am responsible for coordination of the youth club, I try to convey to my boys and coaches in the youth sector the importance of right approach and friendly spirit to all the sports tournaments, especially if they are played abroad," said Galli.
"We are delighted to come back to Sarajevo in a double role, as co-organizers and participants in a youth tournament Under 14. Milan always organizes events for children: I believe that football and sport in general can help children to grow better." said Michele Ferraris Milan Junior Manager.
CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank BiH Almir Krkalić said that the social role of the Bank which is a member of a strong and leading international banking group Intesa Sanpaolo, is especially important from the aspect of a care for the youngest children and youth.
"This Intesa Sanpaolo Bank youth football tournament is one of these examples. Some of the best youth European teams are coming to Sarajevo. It is a great opportunity to see the future champions to play in our town and to promote Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina on European level." said Krkalić at a press conference and thanked to all partners for support in organizing this tournament.
This tournament in Sarajevo is the second phase of "Youth Football Tour Intesa Sanpaolo 2010", a tournament for young players, which is organized by Intesa Sanpaolo in cooperation with the football club AC Milan (Italy).
The pitches of Koševo Stadium in Sarajevo, will host six teams under the age of 14 years (Under 14), who will play divided into two groups. In the first group AC Milan will challenge the host team Bubamara Sarajevo and NK Hajduk Split, while FK Partizan Belgrade, FC Vasas Budapest and Poli Timisoara will meet in the Group B.
In Sarajevo, the tournament is organized with the support of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Beta Club, under the patronage of the City of Sarajevo and the Embassy of the Republic of Italy. This is also the first football tournament to be held in Sarajevo with participation of AC Milan.
Support to the organization of the tournament was gaven also by the Football Association of Sarajevo Canton, the Municipality Centar Sarajevo, Public Institution Centre for sport and recreation, KJKP ZOI 84 and the Hotel Terme.
During the weekend, simultaneously will be an important event: Under 14 teams of AC Milan and Poli Timisoara will play a friendly match with the teams of children with special needs, who are gathered in the NGO Altruist that is helping people with disabilities "Svjetlo" from Sarajevo.
The first phase of the tournament took place in late April in Koper, Slovenia, where after a very thrilling match – concluded on penalties - Red Star Belgrade won against AC Milan. The tournament will finish at the third and last event that will take place in Budapest, Hungary on the week of 04. – 05. September 2010. in the sports center of the Vasas Club.
